RFQ Information for Engineering Services 


The English River Watershed Management Authority Board of Directors is requesting qualifications to provide engineering design and construction observation services to implement a watershed improvement project on behalf of the statewide Iowa Watershed Approach (IWA) initiative.  The project’s focus is on local partnerships to install best management practices that reduce storm water runoff and improve water quality in the watershed. 


The English River Watershed Management Authority, is working in partnership with Iowa County, Iowa which has been awarded funding for this project through the Iowa Watershed Approach (IWA) project of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as administered by the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).  Noteworthy IWA partners include the Iowa Flood Center, the USDA/NRCS, Iowa DNR, Department of Homeland Security, East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG), Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa.  Target areas for implementation are in Iowa and Poweshiek Counties.


Engineering services will be responsible for site survey, design and specifications; obtaining permits for individual projects; project bidding; pre-construction and construction progress meetings to include appropriate project partners; construction administration; project monitoring with site inspections; and final inspection/sign-off.
